What is the membership criteria?+
Our membership is available to anyone who is 25 years or older and has a full drivers license, and no significant driving infringements or suspensions. Once you have registered interest our team will reach out to start the process.
How do the days work for each plan?+
Choose from 10/20/30 or more days in our annual plan. You can then use your days throughout the year on our vehicles:Read more Essential - Half a membership day needed Premium - 1 full membership day needed Private - *Uses more than 1 membership day depending on vehicle *The private category is available immediately for all plans except for the 10 day Silver plan (available after 12 months of membership).
What is a membership day?+
A membership day is use of the vehicle between 8AM and 8PM. If you book a vehicle for more than one day, you will keep the vehicle overnight
How long is my membership?+
Our memberships are a 12 month / annual contract. You are able to renew your plan each year, if you choose. We do offer a monthly payment option, however the contract length is still 12 months.
Where do I collect the car from?+
The vehicles are collected from our head office located at 27 Walls Road, Penrose, Auckland. We do also offer a drop off / pickup service where we bring the vehicle for you. Depending on the plan you select, there may receive some of these complimentary, otherwise there is an additional cost for this service.
Can I leave my car with you?+
Yes, absolutely. You can leave your car with us during the time you are out with a MotorShare vehicle.
How does insurance work?+
All of our cars are covered by a full comprehensive insurance policy. You will be responsible for an excess amount of $1,500. You can also opt to reduce this excess amount with an additional membership fee.
How do I book cars?+
You can book the vehicles in advance using our mobile app. We usually require bookings to be made by mid-day the day before, however our team will do the best to accommodate last minute bookings.
